Douglas E. Dowden was tried before a jury in the Circuit Court of Loudoun County and convicted of the involuntary manslaughter of his son, Dyvon Dowden. He was sentenced in accordance with the jury's verdict to serve 10 years' imprisonment, and the circuit court suspended execution of seven years of that sentence.
