After a jury trial, defendant was convicted of one count of first-degree murder, M.C.L. § 750.316(1)(c); MSA 28.548(1)(c), and one count of second-degree murder, M.C.L. § 750.317; MSA 28.549, for the killing of a police officer. Defendant was sentenced to concurrent prison terms of life in prison without parole for the first-degree murder conviction and 200 to 450 months in prison for the second-degree murder conviction.
