This is a suit for property damage and personal injuries arising out of an automobile accident that occurred on 25 June 1983 in New Orleans. The case was originally tried to a jury. During the course of that trial, the trial judge granted a directed verdict on the issue of liability and the jury returned a verdict of $9,000 to compensate plaintiff for his personal injuries and special damages.
