This case arose out of the government's prosecution of an elaborate financial scam, perpetrated in large part by the four defendants whose cases we consider on the government's petition for rehearing. In our original opinion, United States v. Polichemi, 201 F.3d 858 (7th Cir.2000), we concluded that the convictions of Joseph Polichemi, Lyle "Pete" Neal, Oscar William Olson, and Charles Padilla...
