Appellant, James E. Ruth, III, and co-defendant Christopher L. Brown were tried by a jury in the Circuit Court for Washington County for crimes relating to the theft of a vehicle. Both appellant and Mr. Brown were represented by the same attorney at trial. Appellant was convicted of conspiracy to commit theft of property valued at more than $300 and subsequently sentenced to fifteen years of imprisonment.
