Billy L. and Kristi L. Brown (the taxpayers) filed suit in district court challenging the denial of a property tax homestead exemption for the years 1993 through 1996. The trial court granted summary judgment in favor of the taxpayers and awarded $1000 in attorney's fees against appellants Dallas Central Appraisal District and Dallas County Appraisal Review Board.
