David Gunning was killed when the motorcycle he was operating collided with a motor vehicle. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (State Farm) brought this declaratory judgment action to determine the amount of underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage afforded on policies covering two vehicles owned by Gunning which were not involved in the accident.
