After promising in a plea agreement not to contest his "sentence" either by direct appeal or in a collateral proceeding, Vance Bridgeman pleaded guilty to armed bank robbery and was sentenced to 103 months in prison. Bridgeman then filed a motion under 28 U.S.C. § 2255, alleging that his counsel was ineffective in inaccurately advising him on how much time he would serve, thus rendering his guilty plea involuntary, as well...
