STATEMENT OF THE CASE

On November 12, 1997, the Jefferson Parish District Attorney filed a bill of information charging defendant, Louis M. Jackson, with one count of possession of cocaine in an amount over four hundred grams, in violation of La. R.S. 40:967F. At his arraignment on January 21, 1998, defendant pled not guilty.
