[¶ 1.] Timothy Hollander was fired from his position as a deputy sheriff for Douglas County. He challenged the decision and, following a trial, the circuit court upheld the discharge. In this appeal, we consider whether Hollander was properly categorized as an employee at will, and if not, whether he was afforded due process, and whether there was sufficient "cause" to support his dismissal. We conclude that he was not an employee at will...
