In re M.A.C., Appellant.

District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Decided October 27, 2000.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

Robert S. Becker, was appointed by the court, Washington, DC, for appellant.

Sidney R. Bixler, Assistant Corporation Counsel, with whom Jo Anne Robinson, Principal Deputy Corporation Counsel, Robert R. Rigsby, and Rosalyn Calbert Groce, Director, Policy and Appeals Branch, were on the brief, for appellee.

Before WAGNER, Chief Judge, and RUIZ, Associate Judge, and PRYOR, Senior Judge.

WAGNER, Chief Judge:

Appellant, M.A.C., appeals from an adjudication of delinquency based upon the trial court's finding that he was guilty of first degree murder. M.A.C., who was fifteen-years-old at the time of the offense and his arrest, contends that the trial court erred in denying his motion to suppress his confession. He contends that, because of his intellectual limitations, he did not voluntarily and knowingly waive his Miranda rights.
