This case arises from a tragic house fire that occurred on February 4, 1999, in which three of defendant's young children died. The prosecutor charged defendant with three counts of involuntary manslaughter, M.C.L. § 750.321; M.S.A. § 28.553, alleging that she caused the fire while intoxicated. Before the district court scheduled a preliminary examination, the prosecutor moved to admit evidence regarding the blood alcohol test administered...
