NIEMEYER, Circuit Judge:

When Corey Goodson refused to accept a proposed plea agreement on the day of his trial for firearms violations, the government renewed a request made the prior week for a postponement of trial for at least eight days because it had not adequately secured the attendance of crucial witnesses. The district court denied the government's motion for a continuance. Thereafter, when the government made a motion to dismiss the case...
