VANCE, Justice.

A jury convicted Nigel Edwards of murder and assessed his punishment at ninety-nine years' confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice—Institutional Division and a fine of $10,000. The trial court entered a deadly weapon finding in the judgment. Because the trier of fact— the jury—did not make this finding, we hold that the court erred when it did so.
