PALMER, J.

After a trial to the court, the defendant, Corey Quinet, was convicted of two counts of attempted murder in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-54a (a)1 and 53a-49 (a) (2),2 and one count of attempted sexual assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-70 (a) (1)3
