Trendwest Resorts, Inc. terminated Bobby Ford from his sales position for coming to work smelling of alcohol. Trendwest later offered to reinstate Ford if he signed the company's Employee Assistance Agreement, which provided that if he agreed to undergo treatment for alcohol abuse, the company would hold his position open, except where disciplinary action provided otherwise.
