Catherine Grant sued Peggy Stoyer for causing an automobile accident that injured Grant. Stoyer admitted negligence and Grant's case went to trial only on causation and damages. Although the uncontroverted trial evidence established that the accident had caused Grant painful injuries requiring medical treatment, the jury awarded her no damages.
