Plaintiff brought an action for negligence against defendant for injuries sustained in an automobile accident, seeking damages in excess of $10,000. After a jury awarded her $1,000 in damages, plaintiff filed a post-trial motion for attorney's fees pursuant to N.C. Gen.Stat. 6-21.1 (1999).
