This is a medical malpractice case in which Elvira Horrel Wyatt sued Dr. Rolando Longoria for negligent misdiagnosis. Dr. Longoria moved for summary judgment, contending first that Wyatt's claims were barred because Texas does not recognize a cause of action for wrongful life, and second, that her economic injuries were not proximately caused by his purported negligence.
