The court properly denied defendant's application to place in evidence the contents of a hearsay statement attributed to a purported witness whom defendant chose not to call. Defendant was not entitled to introduce this statement as a sanction for delayed disclosure of Brady (Brady v Maryland, 373 U.S. 83) or as a matter of due process (see, Chambers v Mississippi, 410 U.S. 284).
