Sandra Wert-Ruiz, the operator of a check cashing and money remitting agency, appeals her conviction for taking part in a conspiracy to launder drug money in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1956(h). The District Court gave a willful blindness charge—informing the jurors that they could convict Wert-Ruiz if they concluded that she had deliberately avoided learning that she was dealing with the proceeds of illegal...
