Upon acquiring apparent title to a ten-acre vacant parcel of land in Medway (locus) in 1987, a developer (not involved in the instant appeal) constructed a sixteen-home subdivision on the locus. Between 1987 and 1990, the developer sold the homes to the original appellants herein.
