The defendant, Kenneth Lambert, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of criminal attempt to commit murder in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-54a1 and 53a-49 (a) (2)2 and assault in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-593
