COWEN, Circuit Judge.

In this appeal Vincent Harris contends that when the government paid several confidential informants to gather information and later had those informants testify at Harris's criminal trial, the government violated the so-called "antigratuity statute," 18 U.S.C. § 201(c)(2). The statute prohibits "whoever" from giving "anything of value to any person, for or because of the testimony under oath ... by such person...
