We granted this appeal to determine whether an emergency medical technician is a "health care practitioner" within the meaning of Tenn. Code Ann. § 29-20-310(b) (Supp. 1999) and is therefore not entitled to immunity from liability under the Tennessee Governmental Tort Liability Act.
