On its application under G. L. c. 150C, § 11, to vacate an arbitrator's award, a judge of the Superior Court granted summary judgment for the plaintiff, city of Lynn, vacating an award reinstating Officer Terrance Thompson to his position on the city's police force. The arbitrator's award had reduced the penalty against Thompson from discharge to a two-week suspension. The Superior Court judgment sustained the city's action in discharging Thompson...
