The appellant, Robert Floyd Thomas, filed this appeal after his probation was revoked. On July 7, 1994, the appellant pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment. That sentence was split, and the appellant was ordered to serve two years followed by five years' probation.
