On December 31, 1997, the defendant, Thomas Phillips, was charged by bill of information with possession of cocaine, a violation of La. R.S. 40:967. He was arraigned January 8, 1998, and pled not guilty. Defendant filed a motion to suppress the evidence. On January 29, 1998, the trial court found probable cause and denied the motion to suppress.
