HOUSTON, Justice.

Clyde Ledford, Martha Ledford, Fred Ledford, and Brenda Ledford sued H. Charles Engle, Alice S. Shelley, and Nell T. Koenig, alleging fraud, conversion, and the tort of outrage and seeking to rescind a mortgage held by Shelley and Koenig. They filed their action in the Circuit Court of Shelby County. The circuit court entered a summary judgment for the defendants on all claims.1 The plaintiffs appealed
