STATEMENT OF THE CASE

On May 27, 1997, the Jefferson Parish District Attorney filed a bill of information charging defendant, Anthony Stokes, with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, a violation of La. R.S. 40:967(A). Defendant pled not guilty at his arraignment. After a trial by jury on August 15, 1997, defendant was found guilty as charged.
