The defendant, Thomas J. Barron, was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), fourth offense, a violation of La. R.S. 14:98. The defendant filed a motion to quash the predicate offenses which was denied in part and granted in part. Following a bench trial, the defendant was found guilty of DWI, third offense, and was sentenced to four years of imprisonment without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
