This criminal appeal is from the Circuit Court of Oktibbeha County where the defendant, Steven Ballard, was found guilty, after a trial by jury, of two counts of simple assault by pointing a gun at two law enforcement officers, Keith Davis of the Starkville Police Department and Leroy Boling of the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Department. Ballard was sentenced to serve a term of three years in the MDOC on each count with two years suspended...
