Defendant, Joseph S. Kotlarz, appeals his conviction for theft by deception of an amount exceeding $100,000 (720 ILCS 5/16-1 (West 1992)), for which he was sentenced to serve four years' probation, 180 days in the Du Page County jail, 400 hours of community service, and to pay restitution of $190,000.
