The defendant-appellant, the William Wrigley, Jr. Co., ("Wrigley"), appeals a judgment of default rendered by the trial court in favor of the plaintiff-appellee, Garry O. Hickman in an action for damages resulting from injuries sustained when the plaintiff chewed a stick of Big Red brand gum which allegedly contained a small metal screw.
