Cheryl Burnett and her husband, Stonewall Burnett, sued Betty Deville, d/b/a Log Cabin Catfish, and Essex Insurance Company, alleging that they contracted food poisoning while eating at the Log Cabin restaurant on December 19, 1997.1 The trial court dismissed the Plaintiffs' claims upon finding that they failed to prove the food consumed at the restaurant was the cause of their symptoms.
