The defendant, Howard Startz, appeals from an order of the circuit court of Will County. In a consolidated hearing, the defendant pled guilty to theft (720 ILCS 5/16-1 (West 1996)) and admitted the allegations in the State's petitions to revoke probation in eight other cases.
