On October 31, 1996, Maria Wallace was injured in an automobile accident when the vehicle in which she was riding, as a passenger with Richard Norman, collided with a vehicle driven by Wenona Woolfolk. The vehicle operated by Woolfolk was insured by Gallant Insurance Company. Wallace filed a two-count complaint against Woolfolk and Norman.
