FLAHERTY, Chief Justice.

This is an appeal from a Commonwealth Court ruling that $20,000 in lost U.S. currency should escheat to the commonwealth rather than being awarded to the Conemaugh Township police officers who found it on the roadside during a routine traffic stop.
