CANNELLA, Judge.

Defendant, Scott Wilkinson, appeals from his conviction of simple rape and sentence of twenty years incarceration at hard labor. For reasons that follow, we affirm both the conviction and sentence.

Defendant was charged on January 28, 1998 with forcible rape of a juvenile in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:42.1. After various pre-trial matters, a jury trial was held on June 21 through 24, 1999, at the close of which the Defendant was found guilty...
