STATEMENT OF THE CASE:

On July 17, 1997, the defendant was charged by bill of information with possession of more than twenty-eight and less than two hundred grams of cocaine violation of La. R.S. 40:967. He was arraigned July 28, 1997, and pled not guilty. He filed a motion to suppress which was denied November 12, 1997. A twelve member jury found him guilty as charged January 6, 1998. On March 10, 1998, he was sentenced to thirty...
