The Bar's ethics, or at least those ethics as interpreted by a significant number of lawyers, were put on trial in this case and the jury found them wanting.1 The jury determined that Durie's perceived obligation to his client to obtain the greatest recovery for his injuries does not legitimize the fraudulent manipulation of a settlement, or the misrepresentation of that settlement...
