The defendant, Kenneth Ray Watkins, was charged with possession of cocaine, a violation of La. R.S. 40:967. A unanimous jury found the defendant guilty as charged and the trial court denied a motion for post-verdict judgment of acquittal. Thereafter, the trial court sentenced the defendant to serve four years at hard labor. The court denied a timely motion to reconsider sentence and this appeal followed.
