STATEMENT OF THE CASE

The defendant Yvette Scott was charged by grand jury indictment on January 27, 1994 with the second degree murder of Roger Scott, in violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. The defendant pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reasons of insanity at her February 2, 1994 arraignment. The trial court found the defendant competent to proceed at a March 1, 1994 lunacy hearing. The trial court denied the defendant's motions
