The appellant, Corey Lamar Smith, was convicted of burglary in the first degree, § 13A-7-5(a)(1), Ala.Code 1975, and theft of property in the second degree, § 138-4(a), Ala.Code 1975. The trial court sentenced him to 12 years' imprisonment for the burglary conviction and to 5 years' imprisonment for the theft conviction. The sentences were to run concurrently.
