Defendant, Timothy Ray Hudson, was charged with one count of second degree murder for the February 1997 death of Cedric Williams. Following a bench trial, Defendant was found guilty of the lesser and included offense of manslaughter, a violation of La. R.S. 14:31, punishable by imprisonment at hard labor for not more than 40 years. The trial court sentenced Defendant to serve 40 years at hard labor and denied his timely motion for reconsideration of sentence...
