Plaintiff, Linda Mack, a police lieutenant with the police department of defendant the city of Detroit, brought an action against defendant for employment discrimination in violation of the provisions of defendant's city charter. Defendant moved for summary disposition pursuant to MCR 2.116(C)(8), for failure to state a claim on which relief could be granted.
