On March 24, 1999, Niccole A. Wetherell pled no contest to a charge of first degree murder in the district court for Sarpy County, Nebraska. In exchange for her plea, the State dismissed a related charge of using a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Prior to sentencing, Wetherell moved to withdraw her plea. After conducting an evidentiary hearing, the district court denied the motion. Wetherell was subsequently sentenced to life in prison...
