On July 14, 1999, Stuart Freeman was convicted of two counts of armed robbery, violations of La.R.S. 14:64. Thereafter, in a separate proceeding, the State filed a bill of information, alleging Defendant to be a habitual offender. Defendant admitted to having a previous felony conviction and was adjudicated as a second-offense habitual offender on each count of armed robbery.
