Petitioner is currently serving a prison term of 11 to 22 years arising out of his conviction, following a plea of guilty, of robbery in the first degree for his role in forcibly stealing $357,000 from an armored car. During the course of the robbery, petitioner and an accomplice shot and seriously wounded two armed guards.
