Defendant was indicted on assault in the second degree, burglary in the first degree and unlawful imprisonment in the first degree stemming from allegations that he forcibly entered the apartment of a former girlfriend one morning, physically assaulted her and then forced her to leave with him. He was also indicted on two counts of criminal contempt in the first degree stemming from allegations that he telephoned the victim from jail on numerous occasions...
